Don,
You did very well with your dogs! I just looked up Kombo. Same mother as Branko. And I think has a similar look to our male too.
I would like to hear more if you have chance to link you email address to your name, or contact me.

DRD,
Unfortunately pedigree isn't everything. Just buy a dog from good lines and you're good to go, right? If only it were that easy!
I owned that male before you did. I kept him for a month so that I would have enough time to evaluate him, but after a month I had the same assessment that I did in the first 24 hours - the dog was a spook. My last memory of him was at the airport as I was shipping him back - they took him out of the crate to inspect it and Kombo crawled around squashed flat like a cat with his tail tucked between his legs and hid behind my legs once I called him over. This spook is a dog with an OUTSTANDING pedigree, but bloodlines alone cannot guarantee a quality dog.
He had a serious case of kennel rot when I got him, so maybe that was what did in his nerves. Insufficient socialization and all that.
So, the message that I'm trying to communicate is that you should never breed two dogs based on pedigree alone, or even on high scores for that matter. Some weak dogs can get titled in SchH and even have good scores with good training.
Here's the good news... from what I saw Kombo has high prey drive and is handler sensitive so you can have a lot of fun training him. Enjoy him for his positive attributes. He'll make a good companion dog, and even a good sport dog with proper training.
Take your time and learn all you can, and hold off on the breeding for now, OK?
Yvette
