I recognised a friend of mine in the vids-first time Mali owner, and very interested - it's a small world...

@ Susie very very small world
Same KNPV/IPO did some fun exercises in Gronau Germany last januar together. Handlers who live in the south of the the Netherlands are very lucky , there is also a lot of fun in Belgium
with oustanding exercises from the ringsport people over there .

spending time apart from "trial picture" work would mean a huge number of dogs would never earn titles (or would take years to do so).
that's only says about bad direction, taken by official IPO/SchH bodies in changing the rules and approach to setting critearias for passing trial dogs. it seems over past 30+ years, this did gradually went into nearly absurdity. nowadays winners at all levels of competitions isn't the really strong dogs (from standpoint of workability), which could be easily re-trained to real life service tasks in accordance with prevailing in them traits, but rather the dogs, which are soft enough to be manipulated during preparation to puppet's level of performance.

Strong dogs. Not many people have the skill set to handle a serious dog. How many times has someone asked me to help place a dog because the owner can't control it.
I would like to see clubs increase their members training education, ie. attend at least one seminar a year, attend a different dog sport trial, ring, knpv, psa. You can always learn something new. I have been fortunate to have had many high level trainers come to my area. But then again you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
