Beyond that contact the shelter/rescue and try to get the previous owner's name and phone number. They'd b e the ones with the info on where the dog came from.

GSD Justice.
Do the GSD some Justice if thats what you wish to call yourself, and help people rather than lie around laughing at them. Remember it is so easy to say the things you have posted, but much more difficult to find the breeder of this dog for this person that has asked in a polite manner, and I am sure he or she didnt expect to get ridiculed.
She looks like a genuine GSD -and whether she is or not, this person has taken her in, and is interested enough in her to want to find her breeder.
In the UK - our breed is being penalised and our exhibitors and working people ridiculed by the likes of people with your thoughts, which seems to be come on to the board, and pick fault rather than read into the ost and try to help. Shame on you, that you have shown HorsePhoto a new comer, how petty some can be.
HorsePhoto - keep your search, and well done for rescuing her.
Mo - Mascani.

T
Justice, as previously posted:
Wow Justice, aren't you just a positive one... If my memory serves me correct, you were quite insulted by the criticism you received regarding your final kennel choices. That being said, why would you then critique someone else in the same fashion that so insulted you?... Please at least try to be civil as there are individuals on this board that would find encouragement and direction more useful than critique and disdain. I'm sure you would have appreciated the same courtesy.

Congratulations to you for rescuing your beautiful girl. If more people had your kind heart, there wouldn't be nearly as many wonderful GSDs being euthanized. As for the harsh and critical people on this board, please don't let them keep you away and know there are MANY people here that are extremely helpful. I have learned a trmemendous amount from the people on this board, but you just have to sift through the rudeness and nonsense.
I wish you the very best in finding out the history of your very pretty girl. She is lucky to have you!
The best,
Char

Congratulations on your new best friend! One of mine is a pound puppy, too, and he's fantastic.
"Beyond that contact the shelter/rescue and try to get the previous owner's name and phone number."
For privacy reasons, the shelter will not release this information to adopters.
You could try (in person would work better) asking the shelter to ask that previous owner the name of the breeder, and then the shelter could tell you. Stress that you don't want to know who gave up the dog, but that you'd just like to learn more about her. OR sometimes on owner turn-ins the vet records are included. Ask the shelter who was the previous veterinarian and contact them. The vet won't (shouldn't) reveal the name of the owner who gave up the dog, but they might give you the name of the breeder if they know it. That's how I found it for my guy.
She has a sweet face. My pound puppy (all 80 lbs. of him - he was 45 lbs. when turned in to the shelter) is the smartest, sweetest, most playful and FUN dog I've ever had.
