Thanks again everyone. I'm planning on keeping them separate like this until the younger pup is around 5 months old, then I'd gradually like to increase their time together until they're freely roaming the house & yard together.
In the mean time, me, my wife and our 4 kids are making sure that each dog is getting plenty of attention!
I'll keep up the attention training and give her some time to grow up before I get too worried.

Make sure that the dog does not turn dog oriented but is person ( you) oriented. That is achieved by keeping the dogs separate 100% of the time and do activities one on one with each dog individually. Once they are person oriented you can keep them together. But that should take at least 6 mo-12 mo.
I am often getting punishing responses when I am talking about default. Which means what the dog learns first will like most and do best and revert to under stress. So I always make sure that the default of new coming dog is attention on me before I let the dog interact with the crew.
