i have a puppy i am working hard with she started the same as your pup, she started at 6 months, with my pup she is unsure of some people/dogs and environments, so i keep exposing her to new things, she does come out of it but takes a bit of time, she does not growl any more but will back up a bit. she just turn 10 months, i wish you good luck
