I don't care for the exercise. Doesn't really accomplish much but it is definitely fun to watch and it's not the end of the world for the dog to do.

Mithuna , too many soft weak dogs out here and even softer owners ( I see them at the ipo clubs all the time ) , spring pole is a taxing and streneus workout for dog which test their endurance and drive and builds neck and grip strength , now u try that with a bite wedge and that's a different story on its own, as soon as my dogs are 24 months old they will be introduced to weight vest and collars..and even Iam excited as to what I can build . no one here owns anything close to what I have in regards to drive , looks , endurance and strength GSD wise, that's why I get pms about breedings all the time. Just Lots of keyboard commandos.
Instead of negative comments , maybe u guys should chill with the useless hot dog sniffing stuff and go out there and work these dogs , they're not as fragile as u think they are and as working dogs they should be able to be durable and strong

Bavarian I really don't care what u think , a dog heeling in a nonsense fashion for 15 min is not impressive to me, show me something that can work , a true working dog must be physically in top shape , and yes grip and neck strength is very crucial, I can guarantee you there's a huge difference between my puppy biting and your Black and Tan labs .., I can't get a decoy to stand long enough on his feet and that's because the dogs get worked like athletes

BW : " Grip is shit. Not even close to full. Strength of a grip comes from the back of the mouth and the molars ". From the vid it is obvious that t he dog's grip strength is greater than the g due the acceleration of the dog body. BW why such a grip is not strong?

You're right shawnicus, your dogs can work...with zero actual proof of any real work behind them. Not even the "fake sport titles." And I know your dogs aren't active K9s so there is absolutely no proof of them actually being able to work. Most helpers are going to get tired way before 99% of dogs out there if all you're doing is active bites...it's not really saying much about your dogs that they have higher stamina than a human, that's pretty much expected...I don't have a single dog that I could outlast on the field.
You can tell the strength of the grip from watching a video? Now there's a true keyboard warrior. Never even slipped a sleeve on and yet can tell how strong a dog bites from a video. How does a dog's forward momentum have anything to do with the grip strength of it's jaws?
In regards to grip strength...simple physics. The strongest constant grip is always going to be closest to the fulcrum of the jaw (where it comes together). Instantaneous force is greatest at the end of the mouth due to the acceleration being faster at the end furthest from the fulcrum, but the strongest grip will be at the fulcrum. On top of that...molars are much better gripping teeth than the premolars, canines, or incisors, you know...bigger teeth, larger surface area...simple logic/biology.
In addition...those that have taken bites from dogs will tell you that the ones that bite full are the ones you feel through the strongest of sleeves/suits. Those that take the object with just the canines...you can't even feel it. And then...it's much easier to get that sleeve or suit out of a dog's mouth by twerking or moving it when they only have it by the front teeth.

On one of the other posts, I was able to click the forum topic again and the picture was there again, but I did the same with this one, and I don't see videos. I'm guessing it's not just me because in Shawnicus's other thread, his videos vanished for others besides me. Ideas?
