The military while training dogs for building searches and bomb work ran into a problem with the dogs and the training. Working in tall ten story or taller buildings the trainers were not knowledgeable or skillful enough to keep the reward balls from going out open windows. The dogs followed their rewards out the windows to their death. From the military perspective and mind set the dogs who followed their reward ball out the window to their death were deemed successful .. completed their mission. The trainers were successful .. they had trained the dogs to complete their mission. So which dog is more "elite" ?? the dead dog that followed the reward ball out of the 10th story window or the dog that was smart enough to pull back and not follow the reward item to it's death?? The dog that was dead could find no more bombs and the smart dog that could think was almost surely going to find more bombs than the dead ones. Success in the military thought process is a word without a clear meaning. Usually it means that the enemy blew off all of his fingers on both of his hands and we were victorious because the USA just lost 9 fingers.

Based on all your comments I am pretty sure that you have never served in the military, which is fine, but I don't think that you should voice your opinion. Although it is allowed due to those that have given their lives to protect your rights.

As a former military trainer I only witnessed exemplary care and safety for military dogs being trained for war and detection. Also, I was at kennel of former project manager for Lackland AFB last week in San Antonio, Tex. I was super impressed with the advancement in training techniques the military has evolved into. So my point of reference is somewhat different than yours, but I assume by the strength of your statement that what you know must be commonplace and that is truly sad........if it's true.

Bubba, if all LE and military are so bad, why did you allow one of your dogs to become a police dog?
Fine and dandy that you have your own opinion. But turning every post that mentions LE or military into a bash fest that when it isn't warrented is getting old.

Maybe It isn't best for me to comment, but anyway, if you guys think American soldiers always do right, then you're wrong and in the dark, American soldiers are often victims of your governments as much as the nations they attack or train and arm terrorists to attack under orders of your governments.
Also many of your dogs, trained by your military and police then given gifts to friend nations, those dogs are often victims as much as the innocent people they attack and torture. Wake up and look around, if you yourself is nice and a believer, not all are the same.
I mean no harm to good soldiers, good people or dogs, but facts remain facts and some facts are unfortunate for many.

You have obvious "issues." I doubt you ever served. IMO, you have no right to make such broad statements regarding those who serve or the K9s that serve.

Ibrahim, no one is denying there are corruptions in military and LE.
However to generalize them ALL as bad is ridiculous.
