Hundmutter, It must already be there, it is a scanner, in out profession we scan for reinforcement, we scan for certain types of pipes. The medical instrument manufacturers have radio graphs of all types !!!!
Mr. Fred Lanting made many radio graphs of GSD shoulder and GSD rear bones, and that was several years ago, that is why Mr. Lanting has credibility without doubt

Hilti has these tools for rebar scanning

I think you need to invent something new, and safe for everyday use, based on sonar or echo location, perhaps? Bone is living tissue so the rebar comparison is not the best.

This is a radio graph image
(Are those, by any chance, your keys Hundmutter?)

How did that dog even swallow those keys? Good grief!

Well my best guess is the keys are outside, not inside the rib cage because you can see keys are infront of the bones "covering the parts of bones behind them". But I could be wrong

Still, to be safe and not be sued, the conscientious person should be using lead aprons on non target areas, if they were not a professional, such as a vet and wanted such a pocket device. Would be great to use searching for contraband by casual travelers at all travel hubs, otherwise!

Idea is, today we have no excuse as authors writing on the skeleton, bones and joints of animals or humans to use hand sketches of what we imagine/anticipate when we can make factual radiographs.
Back to the radiograpg pic above, keys could be actually inside the rib cage and reason we see them infront of the bones is due to what metal keys are made of has more density than that of the bones, and whatever media source the scanning machine uses for scanning exemplifies substances of greater density. Again I could be wrong, lol
beetree, am I not cheeky and smart?
