Do a google search of the dogs in the pedigree. Find video of dogs in the pedigree. What someone thinks is a good dog varies from handler to handler, breeder to breeder.
I like hard dogs that can take a lot of pressure and not come back at the handler. I like dogs that can do work beyond sch.
Its like you want the answer without understanding the question. This maybe why you have not received a lot of replies.
Good luck in your search.

For the OP .. this dog looks good to me and is a rescue .. good looking dog and the price is right .. pure bred GSD from working lines I suspect. If you don't want to compete at high levels or if you can do DVG .. the DVG doesn't care if your dog is neutered. I think most WDA member clubs will let a neutered dog compete and title .. not sure about GSDCA.
Brook Co. Shltr. WV-young sable male, stressed in shltr, tagged experienced adopter or rescue. This shelter is in northern West Virginia apporx 50 miles south of Pittsburgh on the map. This dog isn't listed on the shelters pet finder site as he's limited to being adopted by an experienced GSD home or rescue so they said call for information on him. . He will need to be neutered upon adoption. The shelter estimated him to be around 1 1/2 yrs of age. He's obviously in need of some good care and whoever owned him isn't interested in getting him back. Shelter info: Name: Carlen Male Sable German Shepherd Dog Brooke County Animal Shelter 797 Mac Barnes Dr, Beech Bottom, West Virginia, 26030 ... 304-394-0800 Needs experienced rescue or adopter Shelter is rescue friendly Can provide some transport if required Will need to be neutered Previous information (initial viewing) He is exhibiting kennel stress, very high energy, barking and backing away from strangers, but friendly with staff. So he would need to be fostered and socialized to be ready for a family for adoption. Would need experienced - GSD handler used to high drive working line GSD The shelter employee holding the dog also gives information on him on the video

Wade Hatfield .. Mountain Lake Kennel had a half sister to the dog you mentioned named Perla .. she loved Wade and no one else and would bite you without much consideration .. Perla is a Mambo daughter

I had a daughter from Perla .. Greta von Mountain Lake .. she was more like her sire but a great dog .. not so much an aggression dog as Perla .. what Wade told me is that Perla and her Kennel mates were more from the police and protection side of the GSD bloodlines .. don't know about your male posted. Perla is a Mambo daughter and most of the first generation Mambo offspring will bite and enjoy doing it. Greta was mated to my high drive police type male and produced some excellent puppies .. below at 1 year is Cato
