Are people are fair game for bashing because of an ad? Is appleridge the same as wolfsdenranch?
I see the dam is Rosie appleridge, but they didn't put the ad up. They may not be the berries but I don't think bashing them because the dam of the litter advertised came from them is fair. The person who put the ad up with the baby pup between two guns....I'll keep my opinion to myself on that.

"They breed like 200 pups a year."

So does some big kennels in EU.

Very true joan.

I just admire those buyers who are buying the puppies from those big breeders, and later They whine and cry about the puppies because they did not turned out the way they wanted paying the hefty price for those puppies or they have lots of health problems. There are still small breeders in Germany and USA who breed for hobby and fun not for profit where you can buy better sounded and healthier puppies for less money, but they don't have the big names behind the dogs.I have to admit that I don't feel sorry for those buyers.they deserve what they get.I bought many puppies from Germany ,Poland and few other Eastern European Countries, and maybe 1 out of 10 was a descent puppy, some of them I just gave away,if I knew than what I know now I would find better puppies here in the States than the one I imported.

Many more good dogs (German Shepherds) are now in the U.S. then just a few years ago...Therefore the breedings have gotten better...BUT...That doesn't mean good decisions on what to breed to what have gotten that much better...
It's a given that some people have learned a lot about what to breed but not everyone has caught up...

In Europe (Germany in particular) they have been Training and Breeding German Shepherds for a long time...they have the experience of not only training and knowing what each dog's strengths and weaknesses are but the experience to know what goes together and what doesn't...

I still don't like large breeding kennels...but that's just me...Many of the best breeding kennels in Germany aren't big in fact they're small...I appreciate small kennels...

~Bob~

P.S. I like German Shepherds and I like Guns...But I don't like or think they should go together to sell puppies...Just the same as I don't think Kids and Guns don't go together to sell anything...

Actually, I feel sorry for them if they are novices, SH. If they are seasoned GSD people then not so much.

Compared to many of you, I am a novice to this breed. However, I'm pretty sure I could find a nice puppy from a good breeder in a few days or less. Why is that so difficult? There is no shortage of GSD's in the US. Communication in the dog world was once limited to snail mail and phone calls. Now we have the net where everything moves faster and we can interface with other GSD owners who have the type of dog we want.

When I bought my first registered GSD, I researched her carefully, within the limits of what I knew at the time (which wasn't a lot, but I tried to learn as much as I could.) I got a very nice dog temperament-wise, but she fell short of my hopes and expectations.

Now, mainly as a result of being on this board for 8 years, I have a much better idea of what to look for and where to find a good pup!

Training has taught me a thing or two as well, but if you are training at the club level, you miss the big picture, and just learn about dogs in the local area, and not what is happening in the breed as a whole.

I noticed that the other night - wondered if someone was going to say something. I agree it is a tasteless pic. I can see them wanting a "cool" backdrop for their pictures, but the way they went about it is not right. Not for a baby puppy like that one. Stick with the cheesy flowers and such guys...

They are a BYB down here in my area that has been known for breeding dogs with HD, and playing around with fake titles, and pedigrees ( not saying the dogs in this add are, but some have been in the past) I do love the BS titles that they added onto the dogs like K9 TRAINED. this is from their blog they are welting dogs I think somebody should tell them the word is whelping. Now by no means I am one to judge spelling/ typos, with English being my 3rd language but they actually think the word is welting , in their entire post http://www.wolvesdenranch.com/blog/new-welting-building-for-our-females
