I think Yorkies are REALLY cute! But I'd want one that wasn't a yapper, and well-bred, from a reputable breeder who wasn't breeding to get them as small as possible. The puppy mills have a LOT to answer for with this breed. :( Celebrities who use small dogs as a fashion accessory are guilty as well, of course.
I also like mini schnauzers. Irish setters are GORGEOUS dogs, too, but not the sharpest crayons in the box from what I hear. I prefer smart dogs!

Yeah Lineage we agree on that too, I've always liked Vallhunds
but decided they were too barky after I got to know a few.
I considered going into Spanish Water Dogs when Taz 'pops his cork',
afficianados of those say the intelligence and temperament (granted,
nothing physical ) is like GSDs. I am also quite keen on the German
Pinscher. But there is a 'thing' with whippets - every time I go look
round any Shelter there is always a Whippet bitch saying "Take me
outa here".
Amazing how many GSD people over here have 'retired into' Swedish
Vallhunds.
