The Queensland Gov "FAQs on dogs and HeV" webpage says that there is no evidence dogs will transmit the disease
to humans; that dogs should be kept away from horses and horse carcasses and manure; no dog gets it
direct from the Flying Foxes; and nothing about automatically executing euthanising dogs with the disease.

well that's too bad for Dusty and his family who had to submit the dog to compulsory euthanasia;
