Waleed, IMO she is a very correct and beautiful female......I am not too concerned about the angle of her pasterns on the most recent photo because I think you have her set up with her front legs too far back. Next time try to set her so that her front legs are at a straight angle to the ground. They are not perfectly straight on the photo and I think that would make a big difference on this dog. Some set up their GSDs that way to make their pasterns look straighter and stronger and/or to give them the appearance of a better shoulder. I don't think your dog needs help in either of those areas.having said that, I would like to see a bit longer pastern. I like her feet, the most important part of any working dog - no feet, no dog Teeth Smile. She has a lovely coat for a female. She appears to have a bit shorter back than I would prefer, but she didn't look that way in the other photo and GSDs don't tend to get a shorter back as they mature. Again, I think if her front legs were straighter she would look a bit longer. I'd love to see some photos of her moving at full stride when her front legs are in fully extension. I think she would look really good. Also try to get some photos taken from the front and the rear with her standing naturally.

You are doing a great job with her - keep up the good work.

@ blitzen this newbie is now even more confused. You make mention that her legs are set "to far back" ? I was told that i should make sure that they are in line with her withers.

if you look at the other pic , it shows her legs more or less under the wither whereas the other pic it is a tad to far infront? can you perhaps indicate on the pic where it should be?

Thanks!

I think she wouild look better if her front legs were straight, not set back a bit. As dogs mature, you often have to adjust the way you set them up and even the speed at which you gait them to present them at their best. She's a good female. you should do well with her I think.

waleed, IMO a very nice above average quality female, nice top line, strong tight feet, which is lacking in many dogs today.

Pasterns are fine, shoulder blade could be a little more laid back but looks better in earlier pic, a minor detail. Just a beautiful dog.

Congrats.

Hi,

I don't think Blitzen would object to me offering a hand here. Cayan line represents the correct position of front legs under withers. Blue line is current position.

Waleed,

She is a beautiful female. I agree with Blitzen and ILMD about the pasterns, they are good, might not be the best, but in correct positioning they would look their true quality. Also her shoulder blade lay back, when front legs are positioned correctly under withers would look better, but front upper arm will then look a bit short, which is the truth. So when correctly stacked I would say good pasterns, good lay of shoulder blade but front upper arm is slightly steep and slightly short.

Her height to length is very good, again when front legs are positioned slightly forward her back would show very good length. Good head, good withers, nice smooth topline, nice croup and very good hind angulation, good hocks too.

I like her coat and pigment, If I had to point out some elements that could be better, as Blitzen said her pasterns could be a bit longer, also front upper arm could use more angle and more length. In short a beautiful female of good substance and nice structure. Enjoy her.

Ibrahim
