"would love comment about this pup" ----- this is the biggest FALLACY in the GSD world !! to qualify my reponse ..you do not stae anything specific i.e structure, color , pigment, angulation .. so you probably have something specific in mind --BUT ... the answers in that rerspect are all meaningless -- ok RE: pedigree .. so waht ..all that tells you is the structure of the foreparents and a map to the gentetic base .. phenotype and genotype --- that is it and only that !! in and of itself .. cannot tell you that your pup will never encounter a health risk .. cannot tell you aboujt , which IMO are even as important as structure[ more so .. show conformation], the innate behavioral traits / the ability to scent/ problem solve / work independent/ the aggression / sress & levels /sociability / potential hardness so and so on . evrybody is just stuck on .. look at this pup .. and even the foreparents .. that Sch title is to a large extent worthless for what originally the GSD was and in essence should be .. So the pups in reality speaks for itself -- aside from pedigress ..i say .. just show me the dog !! please -- don't let all the hype flim flam yolu -- you want an HONEST opinion/evaluation --just let a well seasoned experience GSD person ..look at your pup .

A nicer thing to have said would be that you need to have a good expereinced GSD person evualate your pup as pictures/pedigree really don't make the final determination on the quality of the pup. But it is OK to be proud of your pup and ask for opinions. Good luck with your pup.

Oh come on...all of these "experts" and no one can say anything about conformation? It's apparent we can't comment on anything other than that, from a photo. I think Alphapup just likes to nag and moan. Didn't even leave a opinion on the pup, just wrote a long unpunctuated blah blah. Maybe Nouchko is just looking for anything anybody sees standing out on the pup to them, be it color, conformation or whatever. Looks like a cute little booger to me.

Personally, I think if everyone who got a new dog was this delighted at owning it and showing it off we wouldn't have the thread on hitting, kicking and hanging dogs to train them.  There's nothing ignorant about enthusiasm, Eeore. We don't all have to be like the donkey in Winnie the Pooh.

And as for how many things can be assumed about a dog from a picture and a pedigree-Well DUH.  I'm pretty sure the OP didn't expect a psychic reading of the dog's personality and future.

I like this dog's topline. I love your excitement. You will obviously enjoy the pup which will enhance it's prospects tremendously.

Hi, Congrats on your Puppy. He just looks the way i like to see a pup. ALPHAPUP, no need to get all excited, chill partner, dont want to see that you get a heartattack ! 1. How can one really try to evaluate this pup, the pic presented is not good enough. 2. Hello.... we are talking about a 4month old, yuuup, you can say something about angulation, overall structure, but heck, he looks just fine to me, lets wait till he is 15-18 month, and talk again. 3. With all due respect, a pedigree does mean something. At least the proud owner knows where his little buddy comes from, aswell as what the HD results of the ancester were. And believe it or not, a pedigree like the one that this pup has, can give one a fair idear of what to expect from this pup. Many might not see the titles of showdogs as competitive, hey, they still had to earn them. Once again, congrats to your new pup, have lots of fun with it ! It sure comes out of a stable & sound breeding. Kind Regards Ulli Dresbach

Jst to clarify-I wasn't saying an educated person can't read into a pedigree.  Just didn't like the implication that asking for input on a picture and pedigree was foolishness because it doesn't tell the intellectual reasoning ability of every individual offspring.

Didn't want to imply that skilled people couldn't make logical assumptions about it.
