Judy,

It changes a few things. It changes the perceptive value of the dog. There simply are people out there that want pink papered puppies. It's an import and they want an import from a breeder in Germany. In this case you get a well known kennel name in lieu of a relatively unknown kennel. You get the Mercedes star on your puppy vs. the Ford emblem.  It makes them more marketable if nothing else.

Second, as a young dog enters competition with a false birthday, one that makes them a month or so younger than they really are, they have a distinct advantage in their class and they begin their show career at an advantage. You can see the effect of the advantage in this case. One of the dogs involved placed well nationally multiple times. He cheated the others as he was entered in the wrong class and you're OK with that? The dog you entered was one place less than he legitimately earned, after you trained your dog, paid your fee, got a handler, went to the show and you came up short because a dog that placed in front of you cheated. You may be OK with it, but there are still a few left that want an open and fair competition.

What's the big deal you don't seem to see? Then you condone people in positions of authority that do not follow the rules of the organizations they belong to and represent. It's OK to use your position to circumvent the rules as long as you benefit from it. It's OK to use your position to make a little extra money and have an edge over the competition.

There was a time in the US when people that abused power and position were taken to task and accountable for their actions. Somewhat sad to see the integrity go by the wayside as you have shown in your opinion and others are showing through silence. There used to be a strong sense of right and fair play. Now whatever you can get away with seems to be the norm and as long as you're not the one affected,,,,why bother doing anything about it.

Randy I'm sure you are correct and the key here is "perceptive value" because in reality nothing changes about the dog itself.  I wonder what the difference is in the show ring for a dog with pink papers vs a dog with AKC registration.  Do the judges think more highly of a pink papered dog? They shouldn't but it's a legitimate question.

Judy,

Since this is all somewhat covert. In addition to what I mentioned above. You have to consider the network that most can't see. You're in. You have a dog from one of the few that are in. The organization you belong to has a good ol' boy network and they make the rules as they go. Since you're in, you're a part of the network. You'll do OK as a member. Works OK for those that can bend the rules, not so much for the others. The only saving grace is the 'others' don't see it happening to them.

Many people are  involved in that.

Club breed warden, he must visit the litter a few times to check if everything is ok, than he must be there when the district Tatoo/Microchip guy is coming out to put the chip in the puppies (8weeks).He signs the paperwork!!!

The guy who put the microchips into the puppies, he takes from each puppy blood sample for DNA and put the microchip into the dog.He also signs the paperwork!!!

The breeder, and he also signs the paperwork.

also a vet must sign the paperwork that the puppies have get their first vaccination.

wonder only how they have done it with the microchip and the bloodsample. maybe they have send the sv microchips and the blood sample colector to the states and than did it here and have send the blood samples back to germany or the guy have make a vacation at Joes place and did his work there.

bad decision from Joe and not smart from the LG12 Prasident to do that.on the end maybe someone get punished but like most time nothing will happen.

I don't understand why people make such a big deal with the pink papers or AKC papers,as long the dog is registered with AKC is good enough.Every serious breeder knows that puppies born in USA will get AKC reg.no matter what the parents registry is,and why they would need pink papers for ,the dogs will be the same no matter which registry they have.Secondly pink papers don't make any impression on me anymore, after importing many puppies from Germany i have to admit that 80% were garbage anyway, and how good the pink papers were ,take a guess.Breeding in Germany became a big business ,and they don;t care what they breed as long they can sell the puppies ,this is expecially advice to newcomers who are impressed with the pink papers, because i think they pay more attention to the papers than to the dog they will get.Buyer can buy much better puppies from good breeders in the States than the one most are buying from Germany,if you don't believe me go to any show in USA and you'll see how many import winners you can find in young classes maybe one here there, all the winners are bred by americans breeders. The Germans never sell you good puppies, excpecially to USA they sell the left overs, and what you have than, just pink papers something to look at and nothing else.
