Lanhua is correct .. the Westerners are just as dirty as the Chinese .. both need to clean up their acts and stop torturing animals and chasing money at the expense of their fellow man, fellow earthlings, and our planet.  However the wrongs committed by the Westerners do not justify the wrongs committed by the Asians and vice versa.  The oppression, killing and murder of the native Americans by the immigrant American invaders does not justify the oppression and killing of the native peoples of Tibet by the Han Chinese invaders.

As far as I know China does well to feed itself and without imports of feed and food plus raw manufacturing goods to use in the manufacture of goods for the "WalMart" economy of the USA would suffer just as much as the USA would without cheap tires, shirts, shoes and televisions when international trade was disrupted between the USA and China.  Unfortunately the politics of world trade has joined many nations in an unbreakable death dance from which neither China nor the USA can exit.  The alarming rate at which China and the USA have become more alike than dissimilar in areas such as income inequality, global warming pollution, and human rights abuses is both incredible and alarming.

Lanhua, very funny your answer, yes you are right. Some months ago I bought  two swing machine both imported from China. Now I would like to buy another one. However due to a economic policy I cant. Because my goverment doesnt allows import of products any more. Even when in my country are not to many factories and they must pay a considerable salary to workers because we have not forced labour camps as in China. I just wonder what that has to do with the mistreatment of animals in China.Thinking

The humane society is calling on the Canadian government to pressure the Argentinian government to have the polar bear moved out of the Mendoza Zoo.

Bill McDonald, CEO of the Winnipeg Humane Society, says Argentina’s hot weather is just not suitable for a polar bear.

McDonald said a YouTube video of Arturo shows the animal rocking from side to side repeatedly — a potential sign, he said, of abnormal behaviour.

“This bear is doing what’s called stereotyping or stereotypy movements. It’s basically going insane,” he said.

“Sometimes pressure has to come from government to government,” McDonald said.

ARGENTINA: Priest hangs puppy from a tree
Gerardo Vogt, an Argentine Catholic priest, killed a puppy by hanging her from a tree in the shelter he runs for the elderly, women and children. The incident occurred on Thursday of last week in Fontana and became widely known after witnesses of the horrific scene posted pictures on social networks. "He always said that the dogs that were around the property bothered him. He woke up that day in a worse mood than usual and when he saw several animals together he started shooting at them with an air rifle. He then grabbed this puppy of about five months, placed the noose around her neck and hanged her from a tree in the center of the property, “said Gabriel Gomez. A worker from the shelter recently made a formal complaint at the local police station. In the complaint she wrote about the hanging of the dog and also said that Vogt kicked her in the stomach when she tried to take down the animal. Several children from the shelter, for whom the puppy was like a pet, witnessed the scene in horror. The case is under police investigation.

Lanhua, maybe you feel offended thinking I'm discrediting your country. However I made it clear that abuse is not about  countries but cultures. The intent to display photographs is for people to sign the petition (At the bottom, please let's sign). In my country there are many cases of animal mistreatment for instance unscrupulous people who exploit the poor horses forsing them to pull anachronistic carts, and also happen that  reefers were shut down because  chinese people  were selling dog meat or rat like beef (thankfully I am a vegetarian! ) Both of abuses are very difficult to control because culture is very strong. Too bad you defend those who mistreat animals, not expecting in a forum like this. For my part, the discussion is finished but I hope you understand that I am not against the country, but its culture and againt some people who have no heart. Fortunately you also come across exceptional people who inspire admiration and affection in China and other asian countries.
