We need to save a few of booboo's posts and just insert them in every thread, his posts all sound the same and it would save booboo a lot of time. Booboo doesn't see the importance because like everything else he doesn't have a point of reference.

Bubba wrote: " The AKC could buy and sell the FCI and that is why the AKC is not now nor will it ever be an FCI member. "
Only out of curiosity ( I really don´t want to get involved into this nonsense / a couple of weeks ago Mr Engel wrote, that the SV is not unlucky at all about this decision - now the 60000+ members of SV are "struggling" and we are his "friends" - amazing )
Why would the AKC be able to buy and sell the FCI ???
Right now there are 89 independent countries all over the world member/partner of FCI. Is AKC that large ???

Susie,
With regard to money and membership the AKC is indeed that "big," independent, and has as a result litttle need or desire to interact with others (FCI/SV) except where in its sole best interests. I would expect nothing less of them or any other organization in acting accordingly.
I personally choose, advocate, and am passionate about a much smaller club that has different "standards" more closely aligned with the ORIGINAL intent of the SV.
But, to be clear I begrudge nobody in their personal choices for organizational membership....
Your other point(s) aside from the size and scope of the AKC are well taken.
And to Jim's point there is no doubt that IPO will longer term wither away under any international umbrella.
I will enjoy the experience in the interim and certainly advocate for it.
Best to you,
Kevin

The VDH could buy and sell the FCI as could the AKC. The FCI is a puppet show with big European national organizations pulling the strings and making the puppets dance. The VDH and through membership in the VDH also the SV are part of those organizations pulling the strings. The Germans are selling more GSD to China now than to the USA by many accounts and prefer selling to the Chinese rather than N. Americans. The rise of the Asian economies and the Asia centric politics these nations will bring to bear suggest an Asian based breed registry or registries will emerge. The FCI is trying to become something more than the European puppet show by gaining a foothold in Asia but time will tell if the Asians will support the FCI or build their own International dog breed organization for their half of the world and world economies. The only country more nationalistic and arrogant than the United States is China so they would be my bet to ditch the FCI and go it alone with their Asian allies and followers to build an Asia based dog breed organization.

Please forgive the ireelevent tangent: every time I see posts from the bloke with the username "Bubbabooboo" I can't help thinking of that trainwreck show Honeybooboo, heh. Never watched the show, but have had the misfortune to see the trailers from time to time.
