On the sixth day, God turned to Archangel Gabriel and said,
"Today I am going to create a land called Canada. It will be a land of outstanding natural beauty.
It shall have tall majestic mountains full of mountain goats and eagles, beautiful sparkling lakes
bountiful with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, high cliffs over-looking sandy beaches
with an abundance of sea life, and rivers stocked with salmon."
God continued, "I shall make the land rich in resources so as to make the inhabitants prosper”
“I shall call these inhabitants Canadians, and they shall be known as the friendliest people on the earth."
"But Lord," asked Gabriel, "don't you think you are being too generous to these Canadians??"
"Not really," replied God..
"Just wait and see the winters I am going to give them!"

I was scrolling through some old pics and came across this, which is what I'd like to be doing right now, canoeing on Lake Bernard in Sundridge, which is where I lived for a couple of years.

However, this is what Sundridge looks like at the moment. I only THINK I have it bad here! This picture of my patio table and chairs was taken in mid-December in my backyard. A few days later, I had my room-mate's son up on the roof, shovelling it off so it wouldn't be damaged by the weight of the snow!

Ha ha, when I talked to my friend last week, she told me they had to shovel the roof, they have over 3' of snow on the ground. She's in Joussard on Slave Lake and they get slammed all the time. She used to live in Smith, about 40 miles from Athabasca and she had no utilities. She had to chop wood to cook, heat water, heat the house, etc. and her water came from a bucket dropped down a well. She raised 4 kids there!
