Here is a great example of NZ female: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=569338
Coco made V1 at BSZS 2009. Please look at her progeny and more specifically Lennox and Lara.

Also keep in mind this is one picture one day. There have been many instances where NZ have been retaken and submitted to OFA and been rates Good or Excellent. IF the bitch is that good and that important to you and your partner, I would not make a decision like that based on one picture that has not even been submitted and graded yet. If she is indeed NZ I would then have her OFA'd for a second opinion, or Penn hip. Good luck!

Jenni, Pakros was HD Normal, but ED NZ.

I´d redo the x-rays, if nothing changes to  the better, this dog would have to be more than outstanding for me, otherwise I wouldn´t breed it.

"Outstanding" in the meaning of :
real and proofed working abilities,
good structure,
a more than sound health otherwise,
a very good ED rating,
siblings and ancestors HD free.

I know a lot of people don´t want to hear this, but there are already more than enough German Shepherds born every single year.
The more stringent we breed, the lesser problems would arise.

There are always excuses -
Showline people are stating - not the best working abilities, BUT great structure
Workingline people are stating - not the best structure, BUT great working ability
Otherwise people are stating ( out of ALL fractions ) - not the best hips, elbows, back, BUT otherwise the best dog he/she ever owned...

I know there is no "perfect" dog, but mostly there are better specimen out ther, as soon as a "but" is involved.

I know, Susie. I just was pointing out a famous VA dog w/an NZ rating to answer Blitzen's question. He was the first I thought of off the top of my head.

5
Zuchtschauordnung Fassung 2013
Ziffer III Punkt 2 regelt Sonderfälle.
4.2.
Auf der Bundessiegerzuchtschau wird außer
den Bewertungen nach 4.1. zusätzlich die Be
wertung „Vorzüglich-Auslese“ vergeben, die
den Nachweis von weiteren Kriterien voraus
setzt:

This rule is "new" - a VA rating only is possible with A NORMAL / FAST NORMAL for quite a while now.

Thanks, Susie. I knew there was a change, but I couldn't remember the details. BTW I'm with you 100%. Rexray and only breed if the dog receives an A2 or better.
