I recently registered my long coated pup with AKC and there was nothing to show what type of coat she has.

In AKC, you simply register the GSD as a GSD. Coat length is inconsequential. More and more coaties are showing up at shows, and doing well.

A friend of mine has a beautiful coatie bitch who has two or three points already. Another young girl on the west coast has a coatie bitch that only needs a few singles (maybe one more major) to finish.
