Blitzen,
your hippies are pretty much generic, but your freak is in the wrong category and the wrong decade, both very stereo typical.
Ninja,
yeah just about everybody did drugs of one kind or another, I don't remember a lot of nerds, of course we wouldn't have used that term back then, and really, hair length had nothing to do with anything.
We would all be in our early to mid sixties.

Not the wrong catagory or the wrong decade in Tampa. I see gothics in the mall every time I go there and they truly are freaks. Hippies not so much.

Yeah they are freaky,
but that's not the same thing....lol
Hippies are extinct I'm afraid, and as I said most of the freaks sold out and put on a suit, some of them did pretty well for themselves.

by Two Moons on 25 November 2013 - 12:11
That bad huh...?
by Blitzen on 25 November 2013 - 14:11
LOL, yeah that bad. I'm doing fine, thanks for asking.

Sorry, agree with 2 Moons: however 'freaky' Goths and Emos can be,
they are a different generation - and probably a mile away in views &
beliefs - from the Freaks of the 60s & 70s.

I think we were just unhappy with the status quo and wanted something better, or at least different.
Never trust anyone over thirty, that was really strange when I turned thirty, but by then everything had changed and not for the better.
All the assassinations, riots, protests, Kent State and Vietnam kinda wore everyone out, and like magic, they all disappeared into the crowd.
We got tired of watching good people die and said fuck it, and it wasn't about the drugs, it was about authority, freedom, ideals and policy.
In the end, it was about money, and moving on, hopefully in peace.
That didn't work out so well either.
