self evident hippie talk, don't know why just feels right....moons - the hippie with guns.

I dunno....seeing bears trained to dance, play a horn, hula-hoop...it always makes me sad. It's just not something bears do on their own.

Bee, I'm a penguin!!  Haha!

Moons, I agree with you about training with positive reinforcement.

How about this for training?!

Freak, we called ourselves freaks, hippies were all together different.

FWIW i'm with hex on this one, sad that people don't find it sad at a fundamental level, instead they see it as entertainment - sick imo.

by vk4gsd on 24 November 2013 - 21:11

freak is a compliment for sure

I think there are great differences between the bear in the video and circus animals..
As for natural, it's not natural for a dog to try to eat a human is it, a domestic animal?

Yeah I'd rather see a bear in the wilderness just being a bear, but the video doesn't make me sad for the bear, I doubt it's being abused as are so many pets these days.

A freak is a completely different animal than a hippie VK4, you would'nt know the difference because you where not there..LOL
Hippie was widely misunderstood here too so don't feel too bad.

Hexe and vk4, how do you feel about training dolphins, sea lions, etc for the military?

not going to watch it as i want to sleep tonight - i will say that dogs for LEO and millitary i consider sacrifices for a greater good presumably, i just hope the agencies are up to date with humane methods of training and care and also have a nice exit plan for the dogs, i think this is mostly the case these days but as recent as Vietnam it was not, the dogs never came back they died kicking and screaming at the hands of a stranger on a stainless steel bench on foreign unfriendly soil, so personally i consider leo/millitary a special case.
