...Cheap inexpensive and quickly prepared foods are high in calories and tend to make us fat.,,Eating healthy things like fruits, veggies, nuts, and lean meats, are typically expensive and usually keep us at a healthy weight,..Just a thought,,

There is a man in my hometown of Norwood  that goes to the Foodland in Norwood.
the Valuemart in Hastings, and Foodland in Havelock, on the day he receives his pensions at the
end of every month. This man knows all the old poor people in those communities.
This man hangs around these 3 stores, and pays the grocery bill for the people he choses.
These people do not know who is doing this, because he wants Christ to receive all the glory,
and does not want anyone to feel like  obligated to him whatsoever.

So what if they did not "miss any meals."  It is admirable to show kindness to others, regardless of their circumstances.

Have we grown so jaded and selfish that we can't experience joy for others?  Maybe it is a bunch of shit, but it still makes me feel good to think that there may be people in this county who have a kind heart. They are an endangered species in some social circles.

And just think our fine Congress just cut food stamps. Nice job boys. I wonder what party was mostly behind this move?

I have struggled a few times in my life to buy food and trust me it is not fun.

I think most here take things for granted and the working poor suffer way more than most will ever know.

Gouda,

How would you know whether or not the recipients in the video did or did not need help?  None of us know.  You can't judge based on appearances.

I never mentioned that video not even once, neither did I judge them by their appearance.
Now again you are accusing me falsely, and saying negative things about others.
You and Carlin better come up with another stragedy, your hanging your self with the one your
using now.

Gouda,

No offense is intended by this post. I just want you to know that one of your above posts sounded to me like, if you are overweight and poor, you can afford to skip a few meals to save some money.

So, if we take that idea one step further, it seems like you mean skinny people need the meals more. But, even over weight people need to eat. Maybe not twinkies, but they should buy weekly groceries and not just fast until they hit the correct weight to be considered eligible for a meal.

You probably did not mean any of that at all, but that is just how I can see it being taken by the way it is written. It is also interesting that your suggestion is that any money received, instead of for food, would be for another necessity. I don't see it like that at all. This heavyset woman in the checkout line could be crying for joy because now she can buy her gifted child the musical instrument they have longed for, a dream come true to be a part of the school symphony.

Or any number of dreams.
