Eagle Pak uses pork for their proteins in some of their formulas. I used that kibble about 20 y ears ago with just so, so, results. Hate their chicken formula, my coats all went to hell. I have also fed plenty of pork: necks, steaks, I don't use chops as I don't like the way the bone is cut; but steaks are cut the other way, no sharp bones to speak of. It is good you have all that meat available to you for variety.
@ Von Ward; how much do you average per pound? Maybe I can order chicken backs/necks from them. Thanks for the info Nan

If you are just going to buy necks/backs you will get by at about .50 cents a lb. give or take. The prices fluctuate but the necks and backs are very cheap. Kidneys are way cheap too. Call them up and ask them about the process. You have to pick it up from a will-call window so you need to make sure when you get a sales person that they walk you through it. Sometimes the frozen is cheaper and sometimes the thawed is cheaper. I always make sure I tell them to give me the cheaper one as I have a giant sink in my office to thaw meat when I need to. And they sometimes ask me, if I want loose or packaged and the ans. is the same; whatever is cheaper!
The pork but is very cheap too. It is tons of meat that the dogs go crazy for. The somewhat flat bone in the middle is easily chewed up.

I switched my dogs to raw, after asking a bunch questions on here. I feed chicken leg quarters, pork necks and I'll add beef liver every other day. They also get these hamburger meat balls that I mix goats milk, egg and coconut oil and this probiotic and vitamin.. I make a big batch and separate it into meat ball size portions, then when I am ready to feed it I stick their vitamin and probiotic in it.. During deer season I will add venison to their diet, organs and meat. I also have fed them beaver, I get from a USDA trapper. They like it, but it is hit and miss when they get it.. I have chickens and goats, so that's just a matter of collecting it, I buy the chicken, pork and beef from grocery store. Deer is from what my family and neighbor's harvest.. Since the short time I switched, my dog's coats look way better, they use the bathroom less and just seem to eat better. I have picky eaters.. Their energy level has also gone up. I do worm more frequently, since they have been getting wild meats..
It is more work, but I can already see the difference.. I still get the comments from the husband about how I spend more time and attention preparing the dog's meals than his! :)
They also get raw carrots, apples and various veggies from the garden, But that's more of a treat. I have one dog who actually goes out and digs up sweet potatoes and pulls okra down to chew on.. Strange mutt LOL
