Love the coloring on that baby, Moons!! Flashy..
Ray Hunt was one of the first natural horsemanship trainers.. His idea is kinda like Clinton Andersons, like make the wrong thing difficult and the right thing easy..  C.A is big in the reigning world, he has been over here, but started out over there.. Trained under Gordon Mckinlay (spelling?) ..  But yea, Ray Hunt was one of the founders of that type of training..
How old are you, VK4? LoL, just asking because wasnt Ray's peak training in like the 70's, early 80's?

Two Moons

Bite right through the bone like it was straw.

That's two different colts from the same mare Erin.
Stallion on top, filly below, and me at thirteen I think.

So long ago most of my pictures are black and white.

moons, is that foal technically a roan or a paint? who cares i guess.

erin i was born in 1965. here is the google link to where i was raised;

about as backward and remote as it gets anywhere.

where the "A" in the bubble is.

VK4,
it is a roan, they change as they mature, the filly kept her spots though.
I broke and trained that filly.
The stallion was sold not long after that picture.
If you didn't care why ask?

by vk4gsd on 24 September 2013 - 23:09

i meant what technical name for a color changes nothing about the horse.

Two Moons

Registered as Strawberry Roan, Tennessee Walker.
I got my hand in my back pocket.....lol

by vk4gsd on 24 September 2013 - 23:09

paints are the big thing around here, they got all these technical names for what we just called piebalds, roans, appies etc.

some of these things are un-ridable and are fetching huge bucks (pun intended) for color.
