Dont get all worked up on a simple question. first I am not breeding. and second, some of the people need to take anger management classes not to get their feelings hurt on the net by some simple questions asked by people.

You're not going to get black from breeding a black and red to a black, anyway, unless the black and red happens to carry a black recessive...not too common. I guess I still don't understand what the hell you're trying to ask or do. LOL

Me neither ! OP says s/he asked a "simple question" - I do hope
they now see that it was nothing of the sort.

We did our first breeding of our show line GSD, black & red to a red sable working line. An amazing breeding! Pups were half & half as far as how they looked, 3 show line 3 working line all have great temperament & good drive.

But did u get any black pups
u do not get black by breeding just a blk female to a red/blk male or vice versa. There has to be a gene study.
I bred Queen v d Held to three blk/rd males sl/wk lines all v , va sch H lines n one Bi male knowing no blk pups be cause no blk recessive. Two were out of sable parents
research the pedigree first for black carrier.

I thought I should maybe explain a little more with my post of breeding a show line to a working line. Both dogs had hips/elbows done, both have great hips. My male is titled, the female was not but came from some great blood lines. The pups turned out great. We got pick of the litter and at 1 year had her first obedience title with AKC. She is now 16 months old and will be going for her BH in 2 weeks and is working on her IPO-1 as we speak.

OP said he wanted more black not a solid black pup, he meant more black area on the pups, like blanket pattern or, his term more black could also mean richer black hairs, he never said he wanted solid black pups out of the breeding, just a side note to the discussion.

You would get all black & reds based on the info in the pedigree, unless some of the missing relatives were black;)

Anyone considering breeding dogs for just one trait should not be breeding dogs period, there are more than enough of those dogs about in pounds looking for good homes already and none of the fault is the dogs yet here we see another contemplating adding to the problem which is already rife in the dog world.Shame on you.The goal when breeding is to try and better the breed not to knock it back generations on the whim of the person.
