Yes, They call that "wolf blue GDR (DDR) 东德狼青(DDR)
I have no Idea why they call the DDR GSD the Wolf Blue GDR.

The Modern dog from Germany is called the "green German Shepherd wolf"
If you take those Chinese writtings and copy, then paste then into a google search, you get pictures of those kinds of dogs.

As far as I can tell Ernst is not GDR/DDR, looks to have *some* in the pedigree but not what I would label a DDR....

I can't find anything but that forum thread that gives an explanation and a name for the Japanese Blue Wolf. I also need to type in the Chinnese text to find images at all, and most sites will offer that type for sale, but don't go into the history or have pedigrees. I'm welcoming anyone that can further our understanding. Their is a bit more english translation available on the Red dogs, but is almost imposible to understand. 莱州红犬 (The Laizhou red dogs - Hewiki,Internet wiki).

Is it not just a marketing tactic, like people who try to sell "rare" GSDs like pandas, blues, livers, or people who often label dark sables as "black" sables or make really faded dogs sound desirable by calling them "silver" sables? It looks like they just grabbed pics of random GSDs and made up labels. They didn't breed the dogs in those photos so I can't believe they have an actual breeding program for these new "types".

Yes they use these colors in the dog names. Very confusing, the Red Dog is also know for it's Special "Six Red", and descends from "Old Black" dogs. The Akita may also be called Japanese Wolf dog, so I am still hoping one day to understand it all.
