I don't know if herding breeds hate labs, but I do

Sure, there are factors for a single dog not to like another type, breed or color of dog. But to write an article saying all shepherds just hate labs because they are friendly and been breed to have bite inhibition is plain idiotic IMO.
I didnt call anyone ignorant or stupid. I said dont be ignorant. As in, educate yourself to not have a lack of knowledge. There is no blood feud between retrievers and herders. If your dog doesnt like a certain mentality of a dog then make sure it is socialized and or handled appropriately around this type of dog. To make sure there is no escalated issue. But do not label all dogs of a breed because of an article or what your dog does.
Also have owned dog hard labs and shepherds alike as well as goofy idiots in both that love everything that walks and those whom are indifferent as well. As well as many other people whom work there dogs in multiple venues and have there dogs in close proximity with multiple other breeds. So it is quite unfair to generalize on a breed with no substantial evidence to prove your point. There is no concrete evidence to support this persons claim( in the article) and plenty to prove it incorrect.
Once again stereotypes like this are a huge detriment and strike against a breed, preying on those whom are ignorant to dogs and sending a clear message to ignorant law makers and anyone else whom lacks knowledge of dogs.

I''ve got three GSD's and one Malinois. Most the dogs I get for in-home boarding are in fact, Labradors. I've got one right now. She is one of those happy go lucky dogs and my Malinois loves to play with her. The Shepherds are a bit stand-offish but they are like that with pretty much any dog. They mind their own business and will get engage with other dogs every once in a while... depends on the dog.
Overall, I can't say that they hate Labs. I will say that Labs have just as many issues as Shepherds, though and the most dog aggressive dog I couldn't let together with any other dog was a yellow, spayed female Labrador Retriever.

I can't say I've noticed any of this. I had one dog that hated every dog, didn't matter the breed. If it wasn't a part of our house, she'd rather kill it. Most don't care a whole lot about other dogs here or out for a walk.

Depends what color they are. Yellow tastes like vanilla, black like licorice and chocolate, well, like Godiva.

It's not their being happy 24/7 that drive me nuts. The ones I've been around are so darned needy. I like a dog that stays by my side, but want one that doesn't always need to be fawned over and the center of attention.

I don't know about GSDs hating labs, but my Ursus line female can definitely tell the difference between breeds!
I had her at a charity Easter-egg hunt, and every time she saw a dog that looked like a GSD, she barked at it! Not an annoying, nonstop bark, but just a couple of woofs, as if she was saying 'hello'! She did this to ALL GSDs, not just the ones that looked like the male GSD she shares my house with.

LOL @ BEE.
I think this story is valid to some degree.....all animals have their personal space.....and some tolerate invasion of personal space better than others.
I've seen the invasion of space with my SAR teams labs but the worst is our teams golden......that dog barges right in to any dog......be it a stranger or friend......He's gotten an earful several times for his rudeness.
Cisco used to be pretty tolerant and indifferent to other dogs before his back surgery.......Now, he's "on guard" around all strange dog's and does not tolerate any pushy personalities.

My 2 cents of experience: Both my big guy, Baron (GSD) and Bane (lab/rotti mix) are kenneled together and the best of friends. Cirberus fell in love with Bane on the 1st day she walked out on the deck at 4 weeks. She still adores him. Rose likes Bane, but does not go out of her way to engage him.
Now Max (my other male GSD) and Bane do not get along at all. They had to be separated when Max turned a year, with zero interaction. It is more Bane not tolerating Max.
