Birds don't like the mid day heat, maybe they are in your beans having a good time.
It's fairly oppressive here too today, but that's what our summers are always like around here.
Weather is not supposed to move east to west though, and that's what I'm getting now from the east, scattered summertime small isolated thunder storms.

Quick .. someone fire up HAARP !! lol
This is 11 days of growth as of today. Yesterday being so hot and now today even worse most the blossoms burned.
I have to irrigate tonight or I'll loose 1/2 the production of beans this time. Darn it.
Now I see why farmers say green bean crops are high maintenance !! My garden green beans never burned like this.

It's late July and I haven't even swam in the river yet, too cold, too high, too muddy, and full of trash and driftwood.
