You know, no one has ever explained to me why the dog has to be panting in a stack pic.  I always thought it looked stupid,

I think when you run a dog for sometime and then go into a stack, it will be less likely it would move from the stack, I find it good when a dog is opening its moth with tongue slightly out, it shows all contours of the jaws. If you look at the avatar of Dawulf, the dog has a deep beautiful and tight upper jaw,  You wouldn't make that out if the mouth was closed. I do not say that is why but it is helpful for me, maybe there are better reasons.
