@ the top lines on the dogs in the line up from 1927 picture.....GSDs of today are " new and Improved" , don't you know.

Ernie Loeb was a wonderful man, as was his wife. She was very helpful to me when I first started my DM work.

When Winnie got to the shows with her dogs in her Mercedes, she would platz them at ringside. 2 would remain there while she showed the 3rd in OB. Those GSD's were great ambassadors for the breed in the AKC world.

Crazy to think of the travel involved for Von Stephanitz to come here to judge in 1930...he would have had to have come by boat!

Geraldine Rockfeller Dodge probably bought an oceanliner to bring Herr Stephanitz to America - assuming she didn't already own one that is. I imagine showing under him was a dream come true for many of those breeders.

Even those white GSDs were good looking, in her day. I like the reverse mask laying down on the far right:-)
