There are also very few vets (at least in our area) that are certified to do PennHip. I'd have to drive over an hour one way to go to the specialist for PennHips when my regular vet does OFAs and is 5 mins down the road. Also, like CMills says, PennHip is twice as expensive, so while I'd love to even get BOTH done on my dogs, it's just not feasible.

That's the edge of the ball joint of the hip. Perfectly normal, as you see here (bone on the left)
