i don't know whether i missed something or what, but where did the o.p. say anything about brother/sister??? the last time i knew, 2-4 or 3-5 was not brother/sister.
there is an old saying that goes like this: "let the sire of the sire be the grandsire of the dam." assuming that the rest of the pedigree was not a linebreeding, i believe
that would be a 2-3 and that is as close as they allow in germany.

I brought up my experience because of what Paul said in the second post about inbreeding and linebreeding and getting the best and the worst. I got some damn nice dogs out of the deal and wanted to share that. Period.
I don't have to make assumptions about anybody--I read their posts and know exactly what time it is. And that's all I have to say. Period.

You could not describe what Vonissk has done as an 'oops' litter.
I seem to remember most threds on the topic recently have all had
someone say something to the gist of: "There are exceptions, when
breeders really do have the experience and knowledge to inbreed carefully,
in pursuit of what they are seeking". This would appear to be a current
example.

When responsible breeders do a close inbreeding, they start with
dogs that are known to be free and clear of any defects, such as
xray & certify joints etc. Ideally some form of working title is also
included in the equation. Not just the dog looks awesome in the back
yard. Then, if the close inbreeding is done, those progeny are kept
back and some may be farmed out to fellow dog enthusiasts to
grow out, and monitor for any health issues that may come to the
forefront.
Responsible breeders do not sell those pups to inexperienced people
and baffle them with bullshit as to how that type of breeding is
perfectly acceptable, even better than a 'normal' breeding.
A tight inbreeding is done by a responsible breeder to be able to set type etc,
and keep back the best of the best, culling the rest and ensuring
that those culls are not bred. They are not sold off to the general public.

Morning Hund, thank you so much. I have tried to do everything right. I would also like to say, yes the pups are placed BUT they are within a 15 mile drive--I can put my hands on them anytime--I wanted it that way so I can see how they grow. I also talked to my puppy people about doing hips and elbows when the time comes and explained to them why it was important to me. There were only 2 girls, one had the murmer--the other I was going to keep back, but I decided I wanted to let her grow more and take another look at her. She's not co owned but the person who took her and I have a "gentlemen's agreement" to see what she looks like later before she has her spayed. Other than not doing it at all, I don't know what else I could have done. As I said I have tried to do everything right and be responsible, just like any normal litter..................
