this is not my dog.....just an example for discussion purposes. Is this a long coat..at 7 months? But when she grow older she become a short hair..oops can't find pic. ah., here. Is it possible to get tervs from her?

In Europe Tervs, Lakinois, Groenedals, and Mals are all registered as the same breed, as Belgian Shepherds, but with just different coats/colors. They were/are interbred back and forth to each other, and still could be registered as Belgian Shepherds. I had a Terv out of 2 Mali's that I imported a few years back. Once they started being imported to this country, the AKC separated them as to color, coat lengths, and became the different breeds we know today in the states, USA. So that's why we occasionally get throwbacks pop up every now and then to this day..

thanks CMills,...so long coat Terv is a recessive trait. And there are some that are kind of intermediate or in-between in coat lenght. By the way here is the same dog at 20 months old....she is short haired now.
