I'm not bashing here (ok maybe I am) but what the hell? Hip/elbow scores? Health testing? Any sort of working tests? And from 2 parents a white puppy? And at 4 weeks? BYB?
So many questions......sorry none related to coat length...

Looking at the parents: A) I'd not be surprised to find they both carry a
gene for producing White offspring;
Looking at the parents: B) I'd not be surprised if they, or their progeny
were unregistered.
Looking at the parents: C) Sorry OP, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if
you bred this litter yourself (hence photo at only 4 weeks) AND I too would
be concerned that the breeding had been done without any OFA on the dogs.
EDDY Take yourself over to the White Shepherd Forum and have a read
of the posts there; very educational, though I say so myself ! ; )
SEOFRED He is a little long in the nose, is all; maybe over-shot ?

He doesn't look like any purebred GSD pup I've ever seen?? and the dog in the OPs avatar looks just like the dam of this pup to me?

by Hundmutter on 05 March 2013 - 22:03
CMills, how many white 4 week old pups have you seen, then ?
And re the pics of the mother - your point is what, exactly ?

@ Hundmutter- I've seen quite a few white pups. A neighbor breeds white GSDs. And in answering your "your point is what, exactly" comment, under your c) list in your previous post, YOU say you wouldn't be surprised if the OP was the breeder of this pup, so just saying that maybe you are right. We all have our own opinions here on the pdb, which is why there are posts to comment on. I simply stated my comments on OPs questions, what's it to you?? Honestly it doesn't really matter what color this pup is, be it white, black, sable, black/tan, etc, the conformation should be the same in a GSD pup, and I've raised plenty pups, and none have looked quite like this one.
To answer the OPS question, its too early to tell if he is LC or SC. JMO

I see no German Shepherd at all. Maybe a BYB German Shepherd. It looks like a husky pup. Has a strange muzzle, but so does the dam. Do you have papers on the dogs?

CMills sorry my questions were straight ones, on re reading my post
I see they look snipier than I meant them to sound ! Apologies - its
difficult on here sometimes and if one only has a few minutes ...
My q about 'how many' reflected the fact that [unless you have a neighbour
who breeds whites !], most of us do not see many white pups, at least so
young, so its difficult to judge how like or unlike other pups they are.
My 2nd q is kind of reflective of the point on which we (and Macrowe) clearly
agree - Mom isn't a terribly 'good' specimen of the breed.

And we wonder why the breed is screwed..... I hope your pet turns out great for you, but these sort of posts really sadden me.

@Hundmutter- no problem, I am not offended. But I think the dam looks like a husky/gsd cross if anything, and to me the pup looks like a mix.

Yeah, maybe. Certainly BYB, even if nothing else crept in to
her genes. There are people out there breeding to get "Black
And Silver" who aren't too fussy with what they put to which.
