Daryl,

You have worked a couple and you possibly own one, but to get any more details than "super nice" on open forum is appearantly like pulling teeth.  With your offer to discuss more by PM, you make us suspect there's something negative to tell.

Why would anyone suspect there is something negative when I said the dogs I have worked were "Super nice dogs?"  The temperament is very nice, slow to mature, nice drives, not extreme.  A great, fun dog to be around and work.  Both males I have seen and worked were very similar in temperament and structure.  Excellent hips and very nice conformation.  They were from the "Z" and "A" Tiekerhook litters.  The Z litter dog is an excellent tracking dog and took to hard surface tracking instantly, I have some videos of him tracking and doing bite work.  His OB is very nice and has nice drive, bite work is also very nice.  The dog is an outstanding dog and has no dog or animal aggression.  This dog is great with children, dogs and horses.  I'd trust this dog anywhere.  Very intelligent and a bit of a goof ball in a fun way.  The only negative I have seen is the males are a little slow to mature, not a big deal at all.

What else can I tell you?  If the OP or someone who may work one of these dogs wants to see the videos or wants more information about the working ability just PM me.  I hope that is ok with you Daryl?  Daryl before you ask, no I am not going to post the videos here.Wink Smile

Thank you Jim for the more detailed answer.

About the one you imported and worked a couple others; does that mean you DIDN'T work the one you imported that DOESN'T belong to you, or are you implying that it was your personal dog that was imported and it should be assumed that you've worked it?  One is erroneous information, the other is not.

Daryl,
Your welcome for the more detailed response.   I am confused by the rest of your line of questioning.  Yes, I imported an Opal son and yes I worked him and another Opal son.  I imported a dog from Koos from the Z litter, yes I have worked him.   That is the dog I have videos of.   I also worked a male from the A litter from Koos.
No erroneous information there.   I'm not implying anything, you are inferring.  Tongue Smile

Who's on first?  I don't know? Third base!

So, you worked the one you imported, although you don't own him.  Why didn't you say so?

Slamdunc:
can you explain "slow to mature"...how do you know that dog is mature...and what suggests that dog is slow to mature (in general for gsd).

Guddu,

Like people some dogs mature slower than others.  I have a dog that at 8 months was biting a hard sleeve with full, hard crushing grips, serious aggression and high drive.  This dog is taking pressure, outing and doing a SchH1 routine by 10 months.  That dog matured quickly and is a very serious dog.  When I said "slow to mature" I mean the natural aggression took longer to come out.  In comparison at 8 months the Opal son was very outgoing, friendly and still "puppyish," which is not a problem.  It is just how dogs are different in how they mature.  Different lines, different temperaments, different dogs.
