You might even try seeing if someone is flying to US that can accept dog as cargo to go with person. I'm not sure if this would work but I was going to ship a dog to AK. The cost of the flight ONE WAY just for the dog was $700.00. However I could have gone RT from Vegas and the cost was $568.00. The dog could have gone as cargo.

I think you can find a dog but you really have to look. Dogs in the states are stupidily expensive. Try contacting some kennels that are not advertising and see if they might have a dog for you from someone who turned one for whatever reason.

I too  have paid high shipping costs from Europe. In October I had a pup shipped that I had bought in June of last year from Blackbullk9, but had him started puppy training there. So he was 4 1/2 months, over size crate. Herby shipped him from Amsterdam to Seattle direct flight for 475.00 total. A lot depends on who ships.

I was quoted a very fair $600.00 for a 6 month puppy and the shipping was $l,000.  Did not seal the deal due to shipping costs.

If I can get a NICE dog for 1600 compared to a nice dog for 2500.... seriously I would not give a hoot if the shipping was more than the dog. It is the overall picture of the price.
