1020ma, I would agree with you.
GSD1997, I hope you get some great advice and it's great that you STOPPED breeding anything with a pedigree like this, no health data, etc.  I normally don't post much, if any, but if you ever need an opinion on Working Line GSDs, I am always ready to talk dogs so shoot me message.  Sorry but I know absolutely nothing about American lines and very, very little about modern show lines.  I remember starting out and learning in depth about the breed, breeders, and all that goes along with owning a quality GSD...A LOT to learn but VERY WORTH IT when you finally learn enough to get your first truly GREAT dog!  Best wishes!

Kudo's to you that your making effort to try and learn. We all start somewhere and at least you see that your dogs have a ways to go before being bred.

Before everyone tells this person it is awful, you have to go back in the pedigree and there are some very nice dogs there.  The newer generations have been given American names, which is often the case when dogs are imported.  I think it is important to look at the whole pedigrees to make a valid opinion.  Yes, there are some American showlines in the pedigree but most of the previous dogs are European.

This dog's pedigree actually contains Lord vom Gleisdreieck, so how can you say it's all crap?  I think people should look at the whole lines before passing judgement here.

Yes if you go back far enough.  He also has Jeck & Odin T, which makes it
ok by me normally;  but that is a long way in the past, and balanced by some
'unknowns' and some ASL etc, one has to ask just how much the few decent
dogs in that diluted amount can really have much effect ?  It surely is a right
old mixture !  And that is without considering whether there is health clearance
or titles in the 'on the paper' more recent generations;  which is more important
than a Siegerschau  great great great great great ...

ALL pedigrees go back to decent dogs if you look back far enough.  To say that it is a good pedigree because you find some good dogs back 4-5 generations OR further back is kind of naive.  I would call this a BYB/backyard bred pedigree. Basically how many dogs are bred in the US, no rhyme or reason to it, just untitled dogs being thrown together to produce puppies.  This is not a pedigree I would consider for purchasing or breeding.  Not to put the dog down, as I am sure it is someone's pet and hopefully someone loves the dog.  But being a good pet that is loved does not = breed worthy.
