A pup from non titled dogs is a back yard gsd. As far as I am concerned that is how they can justiy $1500 and up for SL pups. JMHO

I hardly ever sign in here anymore to comment but visit often to read. When I read this about our homebred Olympia, I felt compelled to answer.
First of @armauro: You know exactly who Pia is as you had wanted a puppy out of her and Dennis Rohde's dog Marin zur Krombach. Are you still holding grudges because I refused to sell you this male puppy? He was way too much for you and I referred you to our friend Charlie Starr for another one - to refresh your memory. So, why are you stating that Pia was with Dennis Rohde? Yes, she stayed with him to be bred to Marin and Dennis was nice enough to keep her for us and even resurveyed her for me as a favor. He did that because he kept Pia's half-sister Uschi vom Siblersee for titling, showing and surveys as well. Both were owned by us, the breeders at this time.
@workingdogz:
Your description is not quite correct. Pia was bred and raised by us in Maryland. A longtime friend of ours in Germany, Werner titled, showed and surveyed her for us. He bred her to the Czech male Chaman Leryka for us before she returned home. Pia's first litter was born on January 12, 2010. Dennis then took her and Uschi in January 2011. Pia's litter with Marin was whelped on April 22, 2011. We had two litters with her and sold her to Dr. Rashid Buttar and his wife Debbie in summer of 2011 since we decided to keep her half-sister Uschi and her full brother Onyx (who in my opinion is the best black male in the U.S. by conformation standard - and no, he is not for public stud service and therefore not a sales pitch).
@everybody interested: Pia's new owners are very nice people. My husband is the one who really communicated with Dr. Buttar for a while. He and his wife own the Meadows Farm at Lake Norman and have all kinds of exotic animals and they happen to like wellbred black GSD. Dr. Buttar is a fan of the late Paska vom Salztalblick (as am I) and therefore has decided to use his lines by linebreeding on him. Is that good? I don't know really, as too much of it can cause problems. Only time can tell. But compared to what some so called breeders use, I would take a dog from him anytime. And yes, I hope that he finds good homes for his puppies but I have a feeling that he does with his resources and staff. Selling workingline puppies to the correct homes is a lot harder than showlines I still have a couple of Pike youngsters at home because of that. Just google Dr. Buttar and see what he has done in the medical field.

I hope Silbersee has set the record straight on this mess and all this drama about the named dogs can be put to rest. So sad innocent people have to defend themselves on something they are not even part of.

I can only keep a couple of dogs and they have to be breed worthy in my eyes. Among my very stringent requirements, they have to have dark pigment (including eyes and gums). I see nothing wrong with that at all. It should be part of a reputable breeding.
