I don't know who I would choose but I would love a dog just like him

Aadilah

Thank you for the advice and the read.  He is sensitive to me and in training I stay out of his way as much as possible and let him work with the helper and then light 'reminders' from me when necessary.   He picks up concepts and training very quickly and once he was mature enough he took to protection training like a duck to water, the thing with him is he never had much prey drive as a younger dog so it took awhile for him to 'switch on'.   I did a lot of drive work with him, more so than the bitch who I put up in my original post.

Anyone else tries to put a correction on him when he is in drive in protection and it is an entirely different story, he is much more like the dog you describ and apt to come up the leash on someone else.   This is why, even though my timing is not what it could be, we still work with me on the leash with him.

Shepherdpal, he is quite lovely and for me the perfect balance of a sport partner and home companion.
