I LOVE IT....Question, do you buy the whole magnetized vest and everything (the video seemed to show the vest also was magnetic)?  Also, is there any chance the dog can tear the magnets out?  My dog Ishwar seems to be an expert in removing any squeeker or anything contained in a ball in minutes, sometimes seconds.   (I know this is not a toy one leaves with the dog)

LOL...I just caught your joke from last night, hexe...I'm an idiot...

The ball I bought has no vest.  It came with two magnets that I typically put on either side of my t-shirt and then I stick the ball on the outside of my outer shirt.  I don't let him play with the ball, hunger; it is my toy and used strictly for training.

Here it is...the magnets are sewn into two nylon pouches which makes them a lot easier to separate.

orbee also has one.........its softer and easier for dogs to grip.

Good subject Keith and a far more productive thread.
I do not own a magnetic vest but I do like them, they have the advantage in producing the ball quicker than pulling it out of a pocket where the ball can get snagged. I do not like a dog to see the reward unless the dog is ignoring it and is focused on you, heeling with the reward under your arm or placed on your left breast in view is bribery and should be faded out quickly. It is far better to reward focused heeling in position with a marker then step out of position to reward, the dog gets why the reward came out and you have made it clear. Having the ball come out of a drop on the breast pocket will cause the dog to wrap around anticipating where the reward will be delivered.
The vest can be worn at a club trial but don't wear it in the kitchen you will stick to the refrigerator.

The vest looks on the video to be a thin nylon.  How durable do the vests seem to be.  My dogs are rather enthusiastic and so I'm concerned about if they jumped up to grab the ball and grabbed ball and vest.  would one bite ruin the vest?

I love my magnet balls (I have one from Germany and one like Keith's).  I use the ball as a reward and not a lure so nothing to fade out.  For trials and when it is hot out, I put the magnets on my pants hidden by my belt.  Other times they are on my jacket or vest.

I like the ball better that I got in Germany.  It has proven to be very durable.  Friend has gone through 2 of the USA made ones because they crack and then the ropes pull out.  The ones made in Germany are VERY expensive.

I like the magnets better with the one that I got her in the states.  Much easier to find if I drop them (though I notice the top-matic does have different colors now) and I think they are a bit stronger magnets.

Only thing I don't like (other than sticking to my truck door or anything else metal) is the swinging rope is a bit too much of a temptation for my youngest female.  :)

Guess I didn't really answer your question.

I put my ball on my back (my tugs get stuffed into my waist band) so they are a reward for correct behavior instead of a lure (I usually use food for this).  If you are using the ball as a lure I would slowly fade it out of the picture moving it into a less visible position.  I want it where I can either release the dog to it or I can easily reach it to bring out for the dog upon release.  That make sense?

When I first saw the magnet ball used the handler would release the dog to the ball which was hanging on his back.  With a young dog that wanted to self reward, he would remove the ball and only set it there once he had the dog's focus again.

Oh, how boring. I read the topic and thought this was going to be far more interesting.
