This is my second one not to pass and yes it is heartbreaking. The first girl even passed her prelims but 4 months later it was a no go. We redid hers a few months later and they were slightly worse. I think an adult may be the way to go but I love bringing a puppy up with the other dogs.

One thing that concerns me is how little muscle mass she has in her thighs. That can both be a cause or a symptom.

I never had a premil change at all. Not GSD's though; this breed seems to often defy the odds when hips are the issue. Was that dog sedated for her prelim? Maybe you could find a nice female to lease for a litter?

I would absolutely LOVE to find a bitch I could lease for a litter. I have looked and looked for one.
