(Both of my pups are close to 7 months.  There have been many days this last month I have thought " what the ##!!! was I thinking about having 2 puppies at the same time?"  It is usually on the cold mornings I wake up and find out that Cirberus has opened the gate on her kennel and the gate on Max's kennel; both dogs are then running around loose)   Thinking

Twist locking?  Can you show a picture of the lock?   I am willing to try almost anything at this point.   I know a padlock will work, but that sets up for a bad situation if there is an emergency and I need to get to the dogs now.

Fawndallas,
If you are using a wire crate, you can take a bolt latch (like the part of the lead that you hook
to the dogs' collar) and clip the door to the rest of the crate. One on the top and one on the
bottom.

These are their outside kennels.   Living in Texas, they can sleep outside almost year round.    Between Cirberus and Baron, I never know who will be greeting me at the back door in the morning.

Baron is my Houdini and now Cirberus is turning into the same.

Ahhh... then you can also take the latch and put it where a lock would go. I have to do this on all of my outside
kennels. One I even have to put a piece of chan around the door and kennel by the latch because she spins the
latches.

Actually, I think the clip that Melissa is talking about might work.  Such a simple solution (now why didn't I think of that).

LOL, I have one on all of the gates into my backyard (smarty dogs know how to open them) and all of the
kennel doors. Cera is in a modified welded wire kennel because she broke half of the welds on her door :(
Too tough and smart for her own good.
