Qira should have her head up and her front legs not so out in front. Like this...

Mind you, I didn't do this. This is just how she stood as a puppy. I suck at stacking as badly as anyone on here...

lol My first attempt at stack I had someone on the forum NOT so nice tell me to go to German Shepherd school to learn. I did it with the help of my two daughters for fun because everyone else on the site was doing it. I didnt realize how cruel and rude some can be here...instead of supporting. We're all here because we love our dogs :) And I don't mean you CMills..lol You are not rude at all :)

Jen, she'll stand like that randomly, but I am never able to catch her doing so on camera. :) She seems to enjoy the "stack dance"... I'll get her front end good, and she'll step out of place with the back, then I'll fix her back end and she will have moved her front... can't win!
This is about as much of a 'natural' stack as I've ever been able to get her in... usually she is either next to me or in front of me, and if she isn't, she is of course never standing still.

.... sorry to derail your thread, fawndallas...

Fawn - i think the idea that one can't tell anything about a dog's construction from a
freestanding pic like you've got here is nonsense. But I would say 3 things - a] from the
look of this, Cirberus is never gonna be a Show dog - but that's alright, 'cos that isn't why
you bred her; b] no 'teenage' puppy should seriously be stacked for a public critique, 'cos
this is the gangly stage, and they can change so much its not worth the agony; c] pictures
of stacks are not the be all & end all, there is a hell of a lot to judging a dog that has nowt
to do with what she looks like stood up - movement, temperament, muscle tone, dentition ...

Theskridge - rather than a stack I'd suggest the dog in the photo you pasted is pretty much in his natural attentive stance which is greatly defined by his splendid structure.
Judging by the wall in the background he looks like a Euro sport dog and a quick image search on google leads to this link: http://charismapapillons.com/german_shepherd_photo_gallery
And here's his pedigree http://pedigreedatabase.com/dog.html?id=481262 - I'll let other more knowledgable people comment on this.

Thank you all. I'll keep trying. It is still just me and a phone camera (sometimes an iPad), so still hit or miss. Maybe I'll get lucky someday.
Cirberus is going to take after her mom. Petite in bone structure; long legs; with a fox like face. She is about 40 - 45 lbs and I am estimating average of 55 - 60 lbs full grown. She'll never make it as a showline; no issues thou, as she was not bred for that. Besides, I am not much into the slope back that seems to be the in thing lately.
I still love her temperament. Of all of the puppies, she has come the closest to Rose's personality with some more "umph" to it. It now takes both Rose and Max to get her on the bottom of a dog pile. Even then, Cirberus has figured out that a bite on Max's feet or privates and he lets go real quick.

(side note: I'M GETTING A BABY PUPPY FIX FOR 2 WEEKS. I am fostering a mom and some newborns. Puppies are so cute.)

Sigh – You sure dodged that bullet. I admire your commitment to devote your time to improve the breed by not genetically adding to the gene pool of slopping backs in German Shepherds. As you well know, your determination to avoid breeding SL dogs and your complete disregard to the breed standard may well serve as an inspiration for every wanna be back yard breeder for some time to come….
