Flygirl, as a curiosity, why no Mink or Fero?

Spook - there have been some health issues that have come down through both lines and my co-breeder and I made the decision to try not to include these in the breeding program. It's not to say that there is a problem with a dog that has either behind them (I personally know of two who are great healthy dogs), but we are trying to offer as "clean' a dog as possible. Just a personal preference.

Thanks for the warning. By the way what are those health issues?

THere is an old thread-Mink Fero Timmy Troll(do the search on the messageboard)- you can take a look at. It addresses a number of the issues that have come up.This is one of those subjects that gets people all fired up (pro and con). As I said, it's just a personal preference on our part and is not to demean anyone's dog.

Being so new to this I'm very concerned about the health issues you mentioned. I just thought you would share your expertise so that I didn't make a mistake in my next purchase. Are Timmy and Troll involved in these health issues also?

Depending on who you talk to yes and no. I guess it's partially a matter of numbers when you start talking about these dogs. There are many offspring out there at this point. Some are ok, some are so-so, some are just plain bad. Of course, people will argue that with a lot of lines you get good and bad. I have heard mention about Timmy and Troll-I'm kind of on the fence with them. Sorry to be sort of vague, but the health issue thing is tricky - I think it winds up being personal bias until there are so many dogs affected by whatever from a certain line.

I think you're just another imposter on this board. I don't believe you have a clue. You don't even talk a good game.

I don't care what you think.

They were too widely used, they were the fad a few years back. Our dogs need to do life, not just do work..... hip (fero)and temperament issues.

Timmy and Troll are Fero sons. I guess you'll tell me Bernd and Racker were too widely use. Hip probelms? Temperment issues? It's a good thing Caro didn't have any Fero or Troll in him, otherwise he wouldn't have done so well in the WUSV. Whoops, never mind. It seems he did have them. (If he had not, I'm sure he would have scored better.)
