I did have a dog dig a hole looking for china with our mattress...he was a pup and somehow got "trapped" in the bedroom. Still trying to figure who to blame for that one!
I gave up trying to give my dog a comfy bed, it was a colossal waste of money, the results were always the same as yours. He gets a throw rug with the non-skid backing these days, or "his" couch. Fancy pillows were always in danger, too. That took a while to grow out of, and still he likes to grab them and do the teeth nibbling thing, every now and again, but will stop when we tell him.
When he was younger we'd buy him those "skinny" non-stuffed animal toys to play with instead, too. Though to a dog, pulling the stuffing out must be the best part! I think it is a DNA thing with husbands, for some reason they have a harder time dealing with fluff and stuff covering 85% of the house's surface area.
Now, if it was the vaccuum cleaner bag that was opened and distributed all over the place, that is something to get upset about! (Yeah, that did happen, to DH no less, and yes was he ever pissed. I was at work and he had to clean it up!) Fluff cleans up easy. LOL

LOL.. Yeah, fluffy is easy. Vacume bag, that may push the patience. (I know it was not funny at the time to DH, but I would have loved to have been there to see the look on the puppy's face when the bag of dust exploded).

It is true about men in general (my son has the same issues); they really cannot handle destruction from a dog. Which is odd, as most men gravitate to fireworks and blowing things up.
I did learn with my 1st mix breed rescue. Do not buy the expensive stuff. If you will miss it, do not put it below 4 feet. My son has not quite yet learned this. By the time my puppies are allowed out of the crate for freedom, they generally know to leave shoes alone. Socks on the other hand, well, when my son runs out, maybe he will have figured it out.
~~~~~~~~~~~
I did think that Max would be the angel; Cirberus has been the one to want to destroy everything to this point. Max and Rose only had about 10 minutes to destroy the pillow. I should have known though. Max had been a pest to everyone and everything yesterday. Maybe I am lucky and this got it out of his system? (nah, I have not enough good karma for that yet)
LOL. It is always funny when it's someone else's dog, and you remember back to the days when yours used to do terrible things.
I met a guy in the park the other day with a 5 month old Viszla puppy, lovely lively crazy pup, who was telling me he had just destroyed his 4th bed at £40 a time, that very morning. That's roughly 1 a month since they got him LOL. I looked at him with my head on one side and said.....don't you think it's time to stop giving him £40 toys to play with till he's a bit older?? He said yes they had reached that conclusion and were going to get him a plastic non destructible bed later that day and put a load of blankets from the charity (thrift) shop in it for him. You just have to laugh.
Mine were never safe enough to have their super deluxe (memory foam) beds until they were much older LOL. But they had fun destroying their blankets, cardboard boxes etc before that. There's nothing like a good ripping for having fun! I used to leave empty cardboard boxes when I was out for them to have a bit of fun with. Used to make a hell of a mess, but they had fun and it saved the furnishings!
