How is that your fault?

Complain to the practice owner. Keep a CLOSE eye on that dog; you could have problems weeks or months down the road with that kind of assault on his immune system. PREDNISONE & vaccines & the rest of that laundry list all together? Are you f'ing kidding me?!

Tsk... and now he's outright blaming me. sad *I* am not the one who let them do it all. He asked for a suggestion on a vet and that is what I told him.

I'll keep an eye on him. His previous owner told me a couple months ago when we were talking about them being scared of fireworks that he had a reaction to one of his shots once, and ever since then he turned into the chicken he is now... scared of his own shadow. So I suppose we'll see what happens now.

That is one of the more typical rabies reactions. I would try to detox him as quickly as possible, if he were mine. Get him some Thuja, maybe some colostrum, etc. I haven't had this issue, but I know a few people who have treated vaccinosis this way with much success.

I've fed two obese dogs Hills Prescription Diet r/d and with excerice they both lost weight.

Hills prescription diet is a very expensive kibble in my country. Don't know where you are, I'm guessing USA, you guys seem to have all the greedy vets :)

Good luck with your dog.

I tried this kibble with a terrible obese Labrador and then just normally obese Papillon :)

if he's doing well on the food he's on, keep him on it- just feed him less.  much less, if he's obese.  you can soak the food for a 1/2 hour or so if you think he will feel hungry - the soaked food will look like more and feel like more when he eats it.  plus, easier to chew, old small dogs often have bad or missing teeth.  Just feed him less food, for dogs that's really the only way to lose weight and keep it off.

My 6.5 lb Chihuahua does just fine on about 3/4 cup of Taste of The Wild a day, given in two feedings, morning and night.
Her health is excellent, coat shiny and soft, energy level very high (typical Chi...)
Any more than that and she would surely put on weight, despite her high-powered squirrel-chasing exercise regime.
