Red Sable

"I know, that kills me about the neighbors all the time.  I grow organic, don't use pesticides and have a lawn full of clover, timothy, alphalfa, dandelions, purslane, and a host of other plants that my chemlawn neighbors probably observe with horror. I see them all the time walking around with their poison paks spraying away the diversity. And then they have to send their kids over to my house to play outside, because they all have these little flags declaring their lawns are full of poison! "

LOL, your lawn sounds like my lawn, and I woudn't have it any other way!

Joanro, how do you know if you are buying survivor seeds?  I want those!

Google it, there's pages of suppliers :) they're already packaged for long term storage. We even got a self help instructions for saving seeds from your own crop. Some of them are complicated, like drying tomato seeds.

I have the pre packed seeds as well.   Of course we also have a bit of stuff put by just in case.  My family thinks I am nuts but if/when the s*$# should hit the fan I am ready.

Thanks!  I am in Canada, but now at least I know what to look for around here if not, I'll order them over the internet.
Much appreciated  :)

They are big into GM seeds that cannot cross pollinate, so that you have to buy seeds for every crop

Incorrect!!  Monsanto seeds DO cross-pollinate, contaminating non-GMO crops!  The reason they have to buy the seeds every year is because Monsanto makes them sign a contract to do so.  They are not allowed to reuse the seed from their crops because Monsanto has PATENTED the seeds.  And this is where it gets really interesting, because when neighboring crops are cross-pollinated, Monsanto sends goons to take samples and when they are found to be GMO, Monsanto SUES the farmers for patent infringement and takes their farms.

Watch the almost 2 hour video and get educated about the evils of Monsanto and the FDA:

Thank you for the correction, GSDtravels. I believe that Monsanto is the embodiment of evil. Some of the stuff from their seeds don't reproduce, cross-pollinate was an incorrect phrase.

Beetree and Joanro, your posts remind me of when I lived in the ozarks. We had a milk cow that would in the spring  get into wild onions.. The milk would taste and smell like onions. But the wild grapes, paw paws, berries you couldn't beat.

Yum! Nothing beats wild blue berries and muscadines, and wild cherry plums!

I believe that Monsanto is the embodiment of evil.

You can say that again and mean it!
