I think the suspicious side will come out as she grows up. That is how it was with my old dog.
My current dog (in my avatar) I didn't have as a puppy. When someone is invited into our house, she is the first to make friends, and if we happen to go somewhere where she knows people (like to meet up with my coworkers, since she comes to work with me), she is the first to greet everyone, however she is also very wary of strangers we just happen upon. She will accept a pet if I tell her it's OK, however she always tends to keep a wary eye on them.
Your pups are pretty young yet, right? Perhaps Cirberus is just a late bloomer in that respect. :)

Yea, they are 14 weeks. I have started working with a command that tells them it is ok to be petted.

I prefer to have an aloof GSD too...but they're all different, I would not worry about it...Every GSD will not ALL be totally neutral and aloof, and if they must go too far one way or the other I would personally like seeing confident and overly social pup than one that lacks sufficient confidence and needs extra socialization.
my female pretends that people who pet her are invisible...she completely ignores them but has no quams about being pet. Her daughter is very similar but will be outgoing sometimes if she is held on leash to be pet.
My old man was super social. It did not interfere with his ability to do what I wanted, he was strong in his work and civil. It was actually more impressive to me to have an outgoing dog with stellar character that didn't lack substance for the work.
I believe some people misunderstand and believe a dogs tendency to be social equates to a dog that cannot be "real".
Below is a training excersise...but it is the first time this dog is doing this excersise... but shows a social dog that is well trained and clear in the head.

A puppy should be friendly to people!!! Seeking out people is EXCELLENT and shows good confidence and no fear. For gods sake let the puppy be a puppy and don't worry about it!!!!!!
Sometimes I HATE this board!!!!

Friendly but aloof is what I would be looking for and that would be for anything you do with him/her. She will be able to tell whom is friend and whom is not later. Nan These dogs are really good at that. I just know when my boy was young he did not like kids. I kept telling my trainer and she kept saying; OH DON'T WORRY HE'LL BE OK LATER. Well he was not, so particularly at home and for now you want her friendly; protection does not mean NOT friendly. Nan

I would not discipline a puppy for being friendly.

Fawn ................ I suggest you make contact with someone who is successful ......... in IPO ....... freindly is not an issue ....... if the dog is aloof or weary many problems are starting on the horizon....... especially with some of the question you have posted in previous posts ...... listen to some of the other people on here making SUPER positive and informative posts ...... social is good ................. especially in a puppy

by alkster2002 on 24 July 2012 - 16:07
in addition ......... is best dogs for whatever reason must bite out of confidence and not out of fear ........ otherwise "load your gun" and forget about the dog protecting the domicile .... IF you are working it towards a IPO/home protection dog !

the older my dog got the more aloof she got and less she cares about strangers, the younger she was the more she liked people
now if someone calls her by her name she wont even go to them in a public place, she will go up to dogs though, but when she was younger she was more social
as they age they get less and less caring of strangers and closer and closer to you because you are their world pretty much
