I use Norton 360 on Watson Jr. and never have any problems.

This window probably scared me off!  That's probably why I never downloaded it before. LOL It seems to be asking me if I can trust ....   (I love taking screen shots these days, lol, since I learned!)

And then of course, in a paranoid state, I wouldn't see an "s" after http, so I probably aborted. Tell me I can trust you! LOL

Beetree,

If I purposely was to do something and Oli found out I would be gone. I use this on all my browsers. This is just Safaris way of double checking if you want to download this extension.

WOW! What a difference!

On the PC, though, it didn't do that.... it just asked me a choice of three settings, is yours set to child protect mode? That is what would block you from getting to the stie in the first place.  Again, I did not see this on the PC, it just pops up a little side bar, with the colored bar graphs, that I could't even get a picture off of, for some reason. (By the time I got the snippet tool the popup would "poof".)

GSD: I can not for the life of me get the PC to block a site with WOT, like the drop down warning shown above, that you say you get. ^^^^ I tried copying the same settings from the Mac to the PC! The defaults....yet,  I have to get the warning manually, when I see a red wreath on the tool bar. I even rebooted.

So, pretty please, can you tell me what settings give that on a PC?  no

I'd take a screen shot, except I am on the simply wonderful, Mac.

Oh, and I just tried to delete that nefarious link, (should have done it sooner, duh!)  and it is "post too old to edit" so if you want to take care of that for me, so it won't cause PDB posters undue harm, I'll be sure to check the WOT's on any future links I provide.

Please and thank-you in advance.

WOT will automatically stop a PC from going to bad sites that have been reported. You don't need to do a thing but install it as an addon to a browser. Every browser has its own install. And this will stop you from going to sites that don't have a good reputation and it also shows sites in searches that are bad.

Thanks for that link GSD. I have not had any problems in a while but I went on and downloaded it because I do go to a lot of different sites.

Wow it works!!!!!  I get a health newsletter--just started getting it--anyway I clicked on one of the sponsored links and sure enough that WOT thingie came up , told me what a bad site it was and stopped it in it's tracks.

BTW if one is using IE and needing free anti virus, Microsoft has a great one. I used to use Avast and it was ok and I liked it. But when I went to update it it had changed some things and never worked right again. OK I tried AVG and I think it gave me a virus--I downloaded it, it didn't work to my satisfaction so I uninstalled it. But then everytime I would try to go to my home page a window from them kept popping up and saying I needed to click here and there and update this and that. Finally I took my tower in for a tune up and I told Dennis to PLEASE get that AVG stuff off there. I will never trust them again. I had Norton before and I really liked them. I had MacAfee before and it was a ripoff IMO--costs $27 just to call customer service. After I had paid almost 80 bucks for the software itself.............
